As a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis at Origin, you will help us bring safety, security, and intelligence to every home, business, and car in the world. This role is perfect for someone who aspires to join a well-funded and technically sound company that is scaling rapidly.

A day on the job

As a Financial Planning & Analysis Director at Origin, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Working closely with the leadership team to formulate the business's medium to long term financial and strategic plan

  • Working with teams (engineering, marketing, sales, etc) heads to build their annual budgets and forecasts

  • Producing models to project long term growth and determine the impacting business factors

  • Delivering competitor analysis, market trends and associated commentary to the Leadership team

  • Analyzing financial and operational results to better understand company performance

  • Utilizing BI tools to delivery meaningful insights into business performance

  • Communicating to senior management the reasons behind the product/department performance and results

  • Providing detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results

  • Reviewing operations and recommending new productivity or cost saving initiatives

  • Preparing business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions

  • Reviewing existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts

  • Evaluating previous budgets, expenditures to develop and implement future budgets

  • Communicating results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations

  • Providing insights to senior management around financial modelling, forecasts and profitability

Our preferred qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in finance or related role

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with NetSuite is a plus

  • Demonstrated knowledge of forecasting and financial statement analysis

  • Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment

  • Experience in a fast paced, start-up environment is a plus
